Abstract: This keynote explores search as a foundational engineering challenge, tracing its evolution from keyword-based retrieval to modern semantic search systems. We’ll break down the search pipeline into key stages—indexing, retrieval, and ranking—and highlight how data science, from classical models to transformer-based embeddings, enhances each layer. The focus will then shift to the design and impact of semantic search, showcasing how it enables deeper understanding of user intent and content relevance. Grounded in real-world application, this session offers insights into building intelligent search systems at scale.
Code Lab: Build a Travel Agent using MCP Toolbox for Databases and ADK
Speaker: Sarvesh Shashikumar (Research Assistant, AI in Healthcare Lab, IIT Delhi)
Abstract: In this session, the participants would gain hands-on experience in rapidly prototyping agents and they will learn to implement basic user interfaces using ADK and seamlessly integrate a database via the MCP Toolbox. The session will also include a comprehensive overview of LLMs and their core components.
