Tech talk: Agentic AI for Smarter Medical Pre Authorization
Speaker: Shadab Hussain (Google Developer Expert)
Abstract: Pre-authorization (pre-auth) is a critical, yet labor-intensive step in healthcare workflows: verifying whether a proposed medical treatment or procedure is covered under a patient’s insurance. This often involves cross-checking diagnoses, policy rules, clinical guidelines, and historical claims records. In this talk, we present a reference implementation of a medical pre-authorization agent built on Google’s Agent Development Kit (ADK) framework (Python), and discuss its architecture, challenges, and potential for real-world impact.

Tech talk: Building AI with a Conscience
Speaker: Eric Moore (CIRIS Ethical AI)
Abstract: What if AI agents could explain their decisions, recognize their own uncertainty, and ask humans for help when stakes are high? CIRIS is an open-source framework that makes this possible through runtime ethical evaluation, cryptographic audit trails, and mandatory human escalation pathways. This talk covers the architecture of "computational conscience" — how 10 constrained action verbs, three-layer ethical checks, and tamper-evident decision chains create AI systems that are transparent by design. Live demo included.
