Agenda:
* 5:30pm~6:00pm: Checkin, Food/drink and networking
* 6:00pm~7:00pm: Tech talks and Q&A
* 7:00pm~7:30pm: Open discussion and closing
Tech Talk: The Pragmatic RAG Stack: Building a Mostly Open-Source, Local Agent
Speaker: Glen Yu (Google Developer Expert) ![]()
Abstract: Modern retrieval-augmented generation promises grounded, accurate AI responses, but most production implementations are locked inside rigid, proprietary ecosystems. This talk pulls back the curtain on building a flexible, high-visibility alternative.
We'll walk through architecting a (mostly) open-source, local RAG agent from ingestion to inference. We'll explore a powerful hybrid stack: open-source document parsing with Docling, local vector storage with LanceDB, and local model inference via Ollama and ADK—paired with Cohere's embedding and reranking models. Along the way, we'll dig into the engineering choices behind the architecture:
* The Foundation: Why you chunking strategy matters
* The Retrieval: Why hybrid search beats pure vector search for complex regulatory documents
* The Refinement: Why a reranking stage is essential to providing quality answers
Tech Talk: Building Persistent, Infinite Memory for AI Agents
Speaker: Tara Khani (Moorcheh)
| Dr. Majid Fekri, CTO & Co-Founder, Moorcheh.ai ![]()
Abstract: As AI workflows transition from static RAG to autonomous coding agents (like Cursor and Claude Code), traditional vector databases introduce a catastrophic "RAM Tax" and passive retrieval bottlenecks. This session covers the architecture of Memanto by Edge AI Innovations, an open-source active memory agent built on an Information-Theoretic semantic engine. We will break down how to replace passive data ingestion with a three-primitive memory loop (remember, recall, answer) that gives agents persistent, cross-session context. We will demonstrate how Memanto achieves state-of-the-art accuracy on LongMemEval while running entirely on-premise, slashing infrastructure overhead by 90% and scaling to trillions of workloads without indexing delays.
